The Department of Environment recently approved the following export permits under the Hazardous Waste Act :
– Dodd & Dodd Group Pty Ltd to export up to 150 tonnes of waste nickel cadmium batteries from Fremantle to Kobar Limited in the Republic of Korea (16 May 2014)
– TES-AMM Australia Pty Ltd to export up to 120 tonnes of waste alkaline and zinc carbon batteries from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Freemantle to Recupyl Espana in Spain (24 March 2014)
– Powercell (Australia) Trading Pty Ltd to export up to 100 tonnes of waste nickel cadmium, nickel metal hydride and lithium ion batteries from Adelaide to Nippon Recycle Centre Corp in Japan (19 March 2014).
Dodd & Dodd Group Pty Ltd have applied for a permit to export up to 5,500 tonnes of used lead acid batteries (ULAB) to Kookjea Metallic Co Ltd in the Republic of Korea for recycling (12 May 2014). The Gazette notice can be downloaded here.
