Export permit applications

Dodd & Dodd Group Pty Ltd (WA) has been granted a permit to export up to 5,500 tonnes of used lead acid batteries from Fremantle to Kookjea Metallic Co. Ltd in the Republic of Korea for recycling (Government Gazette, 11/11/13). BAT REC Battery Recyclers (QLD) was refused a permit to export up to 2,500 tonnes of used lead acid batteries from Brisbane to Kookjea Metallic (12/11/13).

The following permit applications were published in the Government Gazette towards the end of 2013:
– Supercharge Batteries Pty Ltd (NSW) to export up to 12,600 tonnes of used lead acid batteries to Evergreen Environmental Resources Inc. in the Philippines for recycling (4/12/13)
– Hydromet Corporation Pty Limited (NSW) to export up to 20,000 tonnes of lead waste and scrap from used lead acid batteries to Orzel Bialy S.A. in Poland (16/12/13); 10,000 tonnes to Minmetals Korea Co. Ltd in the Republic of Korea (2/12/13); 3,600 tonnes to Kookjea Metallic Co. Ltd in the Republic of Korea (8/11/13); and 3,600 tonnes to Joong-ll Metal Inc. in the Republic of Korea (8/11/13).
