ABRI promotes ‘responsible recycling’ of used batteries. The collection, transport and recycling of used batteries should be undertaken with due care to avoid any adverse impacts on the environment and to protect the safety of workers and the general public.
A new series of publications has been published on ABRI’s website to promote responsible recycling of used lead acid batteries (ULAB). ABRI members support best practice recycling and will use these publications to educate their staff, contractors and customers.
There are eight information sheets in the kit:
– The battery recycling process
– Safe storage
– Safe handling
– Safe transportation
– Regulations
– Dealing with other battery types (non-lead acid)
– Find a recycler
– Managing security risks.
